This website

mnimize.com sets no cookies for visitors and runs no third-party analytics or tracking scripts. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, page, time and browser) for a short time to keep the site running and secure.

To see how many people visit, the site counts page views per day and the site that linked to us, if any. To count each visitor once a day, it makes a code from your IP address and browser with a secret that changes every day and is thrown away the next day, so visits can’t be linked across days or back to you. Your IP address isn’t stored for this.

The waitlist

If you ask to hear when MNIMIZE Studio opens, we store your email address, when you signed up and which page you used. We use it only to tell you when Studio opens, and we don’t share it. Ask us and we’ll delete it; we also delete the list once launch emails have gone out and it’s no longer needed.

Buying a licence

Payments are handled by Stripe, under Stripe’s own privacy policy; we never see your card number. From Stripe we receive your name, email address, country, what you bought and the amount. We keep this for our accounts for as long as Norwegian bookkeeping law requires (5 years).

Your licence

We store your licence key, email address, plan and its status. For each PC you use it on we store a code made from the PC’s Windows installation ID (not the ID itself), the PC’s name, Studio’s version and when it last checked the key. We use this only to make the licence work and to stop keys being shared. We email the key to you from our own server.

Signing in with Discord

When you sign in with Discord (to buy, on your account page or in Studio), Discord tells us your Discord user ID, user name, display name and profile picture; we ask for nothing else, not your email or your servers. On the beta page we also ask Discord for your roles in the MNIMIZE Discord server, and only that server. We store them with your licence so your purchase is tied to your Discord account and you can sign in to Studio with it. The account, beta and sign-in pages set one cookie that keeps you signed in until you close the browser; the rest of the site sets none.

The beta

If you have the Beta Tester role in the MNIMIZE Discord, the beta page checks that role with Discord, and you accept the beta confidentiality agreement (NDA) there. We store your name, email address, Discord user ID and name, when you accepted, which version of the agreement you accepted (with a fingerprint of its exact text) and your browser’s name, as our record of the agreement. Your beta key is stored like any other licence. While the beta runs, each time Studio checks your beta key we may ask Discord whether you still have the role, and turn the key off if you don’t. We keep the record for as long as the confidentiality in the agreement lasts.

The beta build can only be downloaded by beta testers, on the website or through Studio’s updates. Each download is logged with your Discord user ID, your beta key, the version and the time (not your IP address), so we can trace a build that leaks. We keep the last 1,000 downloads.

The Studio app

Studio works on your own PC. Your projects, the game files it reads and your exports stay there; Studio doesn’t upload them anywhere. When it starts, it checks your licence with mnimize.com, sending the key, the PC code and name and Studio’s version. It also asks GitHub whether a newer version exists, and downloads it from GitHub if so. That request carries your IP address and Studio’s version number, and GitHub handles it under its own privacy statement.

Your rights

You can ask what we have stored about you, have it corrected or have it deleted. Contact us and we’ll answer within 30 days.
